God I'm having a full on midlife crisis brought on by computer hardware of all things, because it made me realise how I've just been completely unable to be excited by anything new for the last like 15 years

Everything new feels pointless somehow because I know it's enshittified in some way, or doesn't actually feel novel. Oh boy, another 15% performance improvement for 20% more wattage? Yippee!

I'm never going to feel excited in the way the jump from 128MB of GPU memory to 256MB felt and I *hate* it

I wanna go back :(

realising I know nothing about the smaller parties

I haven't heard a peep from the Lib Dems in ages, the Greens are still anti-nuclear power last I checked and apparently have a bloke who said he can hypnotise women into having bigger tits spearheading the SM campaign, and I'm not even sure what other parties run in my constituency other than UKIP 3.0 and the main two

To any recruitment companies or hiring managers who come across this: For the low fee of £1,000 I will add a button to your HR tools that will automatically send every candidate you didn't hire a polite rejection email so they hate you a little less

Went through my job application history for the last 3 years and discovered a big oof (the big oof not being that I'm still unemployed, but that too)

Only real thing of note here is that foreign companies are better at sending rejection emails

Searching at the big search engines for things like hard to get or out of print movies just gives shady results.

Mentioned this elsewhere, and a friend responded with a reliable place to get these movies, they know them and get good quality stuff fast. This place was nowhere to be found in search engines. Ordered what was looking for, already shipped. Personal recommendations beat enshittified capitalistic algorithms every time.

Reject modernity. Embrace tradition.

In the meantime these supplements are apparently so useful for me that I am, somehow, three weeks ahead with my uni studies lmao

And my breaks have dipped to 5 minutes rather than two hours

Alrighty, 14 jobs applied for, including a couple in Germany. That'll do for this week...

"We are looking for a developer intern... must have minimum 4 years of commercial experience"

@solace10 I was afraid that'd be the case neofox_pensive It's one of those "the last 10% is taking 90% of the time" cases, and it's just kind of visibly missing... guess I gotta hold off until I'm finished with it.

Is it acceptable to put projects you've started but haven't finished yet on a CV knowing that recruiters never really check them

Asking for a friend (me)

Guess I better start looking for work, I have a grand a half of payments next month and then I'm in overdraft.

I'll spruce up my CV a little, but if anyone has any leads on a fully remote, junior-mid developer (PHP or Python preferably, but can do C# or C++ in a game Dev setting) or server infrastructure tech roles - either part time or full time - for companies willing to hire a Brit, I'd REALLY appreciate a heads up right now ;v;

So it turns out it takes me literally 18x longer to read paper versions of the same content compared to an eBook because I'm actually PAYING ATTENTION to what I'm reading instead of skimming

Finally got over my weird aversion of highlighting/taking notes in a textbook because ebooks are just NOT the same

Still feels weird to be "defacing" a book like this even though I know everyone does it ;v;

I think my personal fave part of Cyberpunk 2077 was seeing the ads for a loan at 25% interest, realising that was meant to showcase something fucked up, and then realising that 25% is the lowest credit card interest rate I have (my highest is 49%) and that even residents of Night City have a better chance of recovering from their financial issues than I do
